Would far prefer to have a Court 1 ticket than Centre Court ticket tomorrow. Same is true of Court 3 ticket over Court 2 as well.

That Centre Court OOP is pretty poor. Only the Djokovic match has any potential to be good really (and that is stretching your hope).

Wonder how many people also said that prior to the Nadal match.....

Serena plays early.

These two matches seem very interesting but they don't even have courts assigned yet!

Not Before: 5:30 PM
Sabine Lisicki (GER) (23) v Francesca Schiavone (ITA)
Not Before: 5:30 PM
Elena Vesnina (RUS) v Andrea Hlavackova (CZE)

They always do that Kiu. They did that yesterday with the Keothavong match and Petkovic match. One will be earmarked for whatever finishes first Centre Court or Court 1. This is why I was surprised Robson vs Kirilenko (or even Watson vs Keys) wasn't held back in one of those slots. Obviously it will be Lisicki vs Schiavone that ends up on a big show court.

Nadal's match while uncompetitive on paper was nowhere near 2 of these matches. Nadal's record early on in Wimbledon is full of going deep with lower ranked players over the years, plus Darcis isn't a complete no hoper on the surface.

Ferrer is playing a guy who I am pretty sure has never played on a grass court in his life, Ferrer isn't even that well known in the UK so I doubt that will be a very popular match either. It's not like a Federer where they admire the brilliance in the beat down.

People do pay to see #1s play, no matter who they play.
Both #1s are playing tomorrow.

Quote:Centre Court – 1:00 PM
Serena Williams (USA) (1) v Mandy Minella (LUX)
Novak Djokovic (SRB) (1) v Florian Mayer (GER)

Serena's ground game seems a bit off. I hope it is just nerves. It seems like for every backhand and forehand winner she makes on the next point she loses it with an error with the same stroke she made a winner on before the error.

^ don't sweat it. first match back on grass after a whole lot of winning on clay. it's still good enough for a straight sets win.

I agree, not every match is going to be a great match. She trains for Wimbledon on a hard court, and then works a couple of days before the start on grass, so a little rust is not necessarily unexpected.

Robson taking it to Kirilenko. Which is surprising. Kirilenko has been so good all year. Maybe she's not too good on grass. I'm not sure. I don't pay much attention to her. And at the same time, Robson has more firepower I think. And as she comes into her own I would expect her to beat someone like Kirilenko. And she probably is much better on grass than Kirilenko.

The grass court upset specialist (Pironkova) is raking Pavly over the coals 5-0.

Wow second straight early round loss in a slam for Pavly! Hingis better work a little harder!

Sabine wins 1-2, she is now on a collision course with Elena, Samantha and Serena!
Sabine is my dark horse, lets see who she will knock out, lets not forget last year...

Petrova lost to Karolina Pliskova.
Watson lost to Keys in the battle of youngsters from different Continents.

Aggie and Kerber moved onto the next round. Julia Goerges did not.
