Paris Terrorist Attacks 2015
So sad to see what has happened in Paris today. So far over 100 dead and the number is rising. It seems that the world is very sick and there is no cure. Prayers for Paris, France, and all those who lost loved ones today. May the murderers rot in hell.

Fear, grief and support after Paris hit by wave of deadly terrorist attacks

I thought of Isabelle immediately, since she lives in Paris. I hope she, her friends, and her family are safe. I sent her a PM, and will let everyone know if I hear from her.

Oh dang you're right. I was wondering if any of us were in Paris. Is she located in the city? Prayers for her and her family. Please let us know when you hear something.

That's correct. She lives there. Prayers going out to the entire nation, and a few personal prayers for Isabelle, her family and friends.

It has not much to do with tennis but i think tennisplayers should stop playing tennis in countries which are not clearly supporting the efforts in the battle against the socalled Islamic state. My thoughts and feelings are with my fellow europeans in France. VIVE la France.

Unfortunately, the EU has made a rod for its own back by its ludicrous reaction to the refugee crisis. Throwing open the borders with scant regard for who's a genuine refugee and who isn't has now been shown to be literally lethal. I'm sorry but this is EU politics at its most sinister, and now the EU are trying to catch the horse after its bolted, by back-tracking on its irresponsible policies.

This tragedy Syria shows the extent to which we have to help the poorest and most unfortunate, but it also shows the resolve and pure evil of the enemy. The tragedy in Paris shows how stupid the west has been in dealing with the refugee crisis...

How bro? I know Turkey received almost 3 million refugees and these are people that showed up at the border running away from evil that is Isis. Most have no documentation. None of them have " I am a terrorist" tattooed on their foreheads...All you see is a guy with a wife and two kids. How are you going to know? You give them food, shelter and sure some of them will turn out to be bad apples but how will you determine? It is a crises. Turkey is a G20 country but by no means the richest of them . This has strained the economy like crazy and now those refugees are taking jobs from the locals by working for next to no pay.

This is the price you pay for helping those in need. If there is a way to determine who is who, I would like to know it and implement it too...Life would be much easier and safer.Undecided

That's true, and it only shows the risk and folly of allowing so many people to arrive in Europe unchecked, and now we see that it was lethally costly. I have a huge problem with how the refugee crisis was handled, and I'm not saying this in hindsight. Unfortunately, now the governments of the EU are reacting in hindsight, and it's already too late.

As for the situation in Turkey, I sympathise, I really do, and I sympathise with the refugees. This still doesn't make it sensible to open borders knowing ISIS intent, and how gleeful they are with the situation. It could - and should - have been handled more wisely...

Isabelle is alive and well. Clap

I asked her to post something here when she has time, but she's understandably busy right now.

Thanks for your support and your friendship, you're such a great help. You're going to be proud of me : yesterday I took the subway (a lot of cops around us) then I went to a commercial center (a lot of security guards around us) and I bought a DVD for my best friend's son, he's my love and his smile was with me when I walked into the empty shop...then I came back from the commercial center to subway, no tourist in Le Printemps dep store, Xmas lights with nobody to watch it really strange. I was happy to be back home I 'm ready to go out everyday to f**** those arrogant bastards. Paris is my city I'm at home here, not them. No place for hate in Paris, we want to live in peace. Thanks to John Kerry for beeing there and help us to destroy Daesh. Poutine sent some bombs in Raaqua : all together we can win this stupid and useless war.
Much love and hugs from us to you my beloved friends
Peace Love Friendship Happiness Joy

This is the crux of it. As much as these countries want to "do the right thing" they should be thinking about safety first. It's terrifying to read that Obama and some of the other bleeding hearts want to let a countless number of refugees into this country.

It might be hard but it is necessary to put yourself in the shoes of one of the leaders of this maniac organization. What better way to infiltrate the US than to have dozens or even hundreds of ISIS members posing as refugees who will get into this country no questions asked and ready to do some damage. I'm going to go out on a limb and say none of these refugees have birth certificates or any other form of documentation to provide these foreign governments and even if they did it's not like there is intel on every member of ISIS. This is as dumb as it gets.

Good news from here : this morning at 4h30 cops and army assaulted an apart in St Denis where 7 terrorists lived. One was killed, another, a kamikaze woman, suicided, 5 were arrested after 1 hour of intensive shootings. We do a lot of progress vs Isis's monsters. United we stand Stay safe everywhere you live. Much love from Paris

How about putting yourself in the shoes of a family with kids, whose house is destroyed so "go back to where you came from" type of moronic insults do not apply, and they are running away from a nasty kind of evil that is trying to kill them because they do not follow the "right" kind of Islam? Do you think these people want to be in this situation? Where do you suggest they should go? Where would YOU go? What is your solution?

I would try to go to the USA or any other country that would take me of course. But that's from the refugees' perspective.

We aren't talking about things from the refugees' perspective and a long history of the world shows that people individually and as a group will, and should, act in their own self-interest. I may come off sounding like a heartless bastard but this issue is far from cut and dry because of the circumstances surrounding it. We simply aren't talking about taking in a couple hundred people from a neutral region of the world here. These aren't say...a few hundred Norwegians who lost their homes from some natural disaster. We are talking about taking in thousands of nameless people when there is a very distinct possibility that among them are hundreds of members from a militant group whose sole purpose is to bring death and destruction to what could be their new "adopted home." It seems to be a done deal already, and all I can say is I hope they keep them as far away from the Midwest as possible.
