Should Vika be fined for her behaviour?
Azarenka smashed her racquet today, she had a code violation and as a results ended up with a point penalty.
She lost her temper and argued with the umpire, this is what's being quoted.

Not necessary for me. Let her express herself. Big Smile And smashing her tennis racquet, well, it was HER tennis racquet. If it had been Makarova's it would be different. Wink

Her criticism of Alves is no different than Serena's outburst at the 2011 USO where she told the umpire she was a hater and ugly inside. LMAO

The umpire could have done it a little more descret holding her hand over the mic when she's telling Vika that she had a warning from "swearing at the crowd" - didn't know you could get a warning for that - what about the audience are they thrown out for swearing at Vika. SOmetimes I think that Ms Alves is a little too much sometimes - wasn't it her that was more or less the reason for hawk-eye? Vika can be rude too but players like Serena and Vika sometimes are too much into their game so outbursts can happen. The umpires should know that and maybe have a talk with them before they give the warning.

Apparently, she was too discreet the first time she issued a warning as Vika says she never heard it. I think that is where the contention lay.

I wonder what those poor rackets have done to deserve such severe punishments from their owner - [Image: laugh.gif] - Vika is not the only one who've demolished her racket completely on court:

I don't really care. I don't think they should be penalized for smashing a raquet. I understand the language or speaking nastily to an umpire or lines person, but let them smash a racquet and get it out of their system.

I think it is in poor form for Vika to bring up the past problems of that specific ump. Focus on what is happening on the court. Should she be fined? No.

Vika is back to her normal petulant self...dont blame because Alves is a horrible umpire.

They have to be consistent. They can't look away from violent behaviour, or bad language...

Of course they can. A bit of controversy is always good to keep everyone interested. Instead of a fine they should give her a bonus! Big Smile

I don't think she should be fined, but she needs to be spanked!

Get over here girl...
